Q & A:

I have lived in the Greater Seattle Area... my entire life and my favorite thing about it is the access to so many great things to do- live music, hikes, ferry rides – all a short drive or walk away.

My first job was... a file clerk at a doctor’s office. I spent hours every day after school scanning medical records into an electronic file system.

When I was in high school, I wanted to be... a nurse. All I knew is that I loved working directly with people. Little did I realize that my queasiness around blood was not the best attribute for the job.

I chose my major because… I had begun volunteering with a young adult shelter. I immediately discovered my passion for working with youth and young adults and was eager to make a career out of it.

The thing I found most helpful to support my college experience was… encouragement from my family and friends.

The best piece of career or college advice I ever received was…do not limit yourself; the only way to fail for sure is to not try at all.

The people who have been most influential for my career path are…those who took risks by allowing me to try new things out and make decisions on my own, while standing behind me and having my back.

If I never had to work again, I would…travel around the world to meet people and learn about their cultures

My favorite way to spend the weekend or a Sunday afternoon is… being outdoors or listening to live music.

I joined the YouthForce Team because… I love working with youth! It is so cool to have the opportunity to constantly witness youth growing, gaining confidence, and discovering their future.
